Yard Office Model Railroading Software offers a shareware version.
That means that you may install and try the program free. If you find it useful we ask that you register it for a fee of $20. The shareware version has no inventory size limits or time limits. It is fully functioning allowing unlimited data input, roster and car-card printouts, photos, etc. You can maintain a nice inventory set-up with the shareware system. It lacks only the features listed below.

Registering gives you additional features beyond the shareware system:

• Filter Data to view or print only subsets of your inventory.
• Add Multiple Images for each car or locomotive. These images will rotate each time you view an item. Shareware users are limited to one image per item.
• Import or Export items to and from Microsoft Excel tables.
• Many Extra Reports. A roster report and some car cards are available in shareware, but many others come with registration.
  • Expanded Roster Report includes far more data than the basic roster, and optionally can print your model notes.
  • Full Detail Roster Report With Photos includes complete data for each item, printed on car or locomotive to a page, and optionally can print your model notes.
  • Inventory Values Report includes date acquired, retail price, paid price, and current value for your items.
  • Three types of labels including three column sheets with or without car photos, and a two column sheet with larger photos (useful as labels or as a photo record of your inventory).
  • Inventory Analysis Report includes counts and average costs of items grouped by road name, category, type, manufacturer, dealer, scale, and status.
  • Totals Report show on screen in shareware version, but may also be printed in registered version.
• Notification of upgrades as they become available for one year.
• Technical support via email.
• That nice warm feeling of knowing you paid the author for his work, and contributed to the continued development and support of the software.
